It had been quite some time since we’d visited this winery and thought we would take advantage of the $1 shipping. We purchased three bottles. We’ve tried Paso Doble and Kick Off so far and both my husband and I agree, they were sub par. We found them to be incredibly young and not drinkable. No amount of decanting remedied the overall acidity of both of these wines. We’ve been visiting Paso Robles each year for the past 20 years and we were so very very disappointed with this purchase. We could’ve gotten better wine at our local Trader Joe’s for under $10. I decided to send my comments by email to the winery just to let them know what I thought. They couldn’t even be bothered to respond. I received absolutely no feedback, not even a ‘thanks for your comments, we’ll take them into consideration’ . Very disappointed.

Although we know that our palates are all quite different when it comes to tasting wine, we always appreciate feedback on our wine and our service. We apologize that our email reply was delayed during our limited staffing during the quarantine closure of our winery. In these unusual times, we are working hard behind the scenes to offer our wine to our loyal customers and wine club members and hope for grace and understanding if we falter during these challenging times. As Paso wine country gets back up and running and we are once again able to receive customers for tasting, we hope you consider giving our wines another try. We understand we will not please all palates. Please let me know if there is anything we can do to help you feel better about this, we want your experience with Red Soles to be great.

Nice hilltop setting overlooking the surrounding countryside. There is limited inside seating, but with all this covid 19 keeping one’s distance regulations, we were happy to sit outside in the shade and enjoy a glass of wine and the view.
Very helpful staff, and reasonable pours, in their stemless glasses. Reds ok, my friends seemed to like their flights.
Interesting to know they made real absinthe, just wondered where they got the wormwood from?.
A very popular drink in Paris in the twenty’s, with painters and the art, crowed, but then they added a sugar cube, a drop of arsenic, and set it on fire.
Did not see that on the distilled liquor menu, Haha. Maybe next time!
TIP: Not into wine and only there as a companion, try the limoncello.

They were in the process of the crush, and the owner took time out of his day to explain what was going on to those who were checking out what he was doing.
The wines are really good here. I just got into Rose' wines, not to be confused with White Zin. Rose' wines are dry not sweet, they have more depth and character than that nasty White Zin.
Red Soles makes a delicious Rose' from Syrah grapes. I absolutely love their Petite Sirahs. The Archillies Weakness is also another good blend of Mourvedre, Syrah, Grenache and Petite Sirah. Plus, the dessert style Petite Sirah called Sticky Paws is so good, I wish it came in a gallon jug.

We stopped by Red Soles late in the day. They were just as friendly then as they probably would have been first thing in the morning. Randy was an excellent host. As the owner and winemaker he was very knowledgeable about his wines. He showed such passion in oour education of his wines and the process. The wines were great and the atmosphere was excellent. This winery will definitely make our return to list.

My wife and I stopped here on our guided tour of some Paso wineries and were not disappointed. The grounds are gorgeous, the wine is very tasty as is the Lemon Cello they distill on premises (probably the best we've had)!

We are wine club members and come up to Red Soles from Long Beach, CA twice a year. Randy is the owner and has been farming grapes for over 25 years in Paso. He makes wine with about 4% of his grapes and sells the rest for top dollar to well known premium wineries. He makes wine for fun and to help market his grapes. And what great wines they are! While he does not care to jump through the Wine Spectator magazine hoops, he has bunches of gold, double gold, and best of show medals from multiple California county fairs.
The wines are only available at the tasting room, on-line and through the wine club. Most of them also sell out each year. There are a wide variety of outstanding full body reds including Syrah, Petit Syrah, Tempranillo, Zinfandel, and several red blends. There are also several excellent whites and a yummy Rose. Too many to list! The prices are quite reasonable for premium quality wine. I'm obviously a fan,
The smallish but comfortable tasting room rests among Randy's vines. The knowledgeable and mostly volunteer staff is very friendly. This is the only winery I visit each and every time time I come up to Paso.

Not sure what to expect when we pulled in, but all preconceived notions went out the window. They hand you a wine list and tell you to create your own 6 wine tasting with healthy pours. Blends that bring out the best in their reds, and whites that even the most hardened red only drinker enjoyed. Price point is very reasonable, and they even offer bundle discounts. As it was harvest weekend we got free shirts with our wine purchase and our pourer, Hunter, ensured we were well taken care of. Don't be fooled, put this place on your list.

Very pleasant experience. The wines we tasted were very good. Good enough to buy several. We don't often buy more than one per wine tasting at a winery. Loved their zinfandel. Our server (I believe Tiffany - forgive me if I'm wrong) was wonderful. We were there at 11am on a weekday and had the place to ourselves. Tiffany is a local that has been working there quite a while and really loves everything about wines. She was a delight, informative and very enthusiastic. We really had a great time there. Red Soles Winery should definitely be a wine tasting stop for everyone to try.

We visited Red Soles in a torrential downpour, and we had a blast. The customer service was excellent, and the wines were delicious. Their branding is spot on--I wish I would have purchased the wine glasses. The bar provides a spectacular view of the vineyards even in the rain, and we left with a few bottles of their reds. I think we may have to return to this enchanting winery.

After Red Soles were renovated, they opened up the wall facing the vineyard to extend the bar out. Now they can serve you wine no matter whether you stay in the artistic tasting room or stay outside at the beautiful picnic area! It's definitely more fun and more welcoming this way. Cool design!
Ooh, and their front yard is breathtakingly beautiful! Definitely a photo spot, especially in Nov when leaves colored at different pace.
