Our first time visiting and so glad we came. Staff super friendly and very knowledgeable. The grounds were amazing and the views were incredible to sit and enjoy. Very good selection of wine and we enjoyed every sip.

Some of our favorite wines in the area. Way back at the end of a long, twisty drive, it's worth the trek! Plenty of indoor and outdoor tasting areas (even AC blowers outside!), though you still need a reservation. Highly recommend the walking tour - we were lucky enough to go with Cindy, who's been there a LONG time and knows so much about the history and winemaking - what a joy and experience, especially for your first time. Love the sustainability efforts and the results they've achieved. And oh my goodness - they raise sheep/lamb and have frozen lamb cuts for sale in the tasting room - just fantastic lamb! Barely even a hint of lamb flavor when we took it "home" and grilled it - but flavorful and tender....far far better than the steaks we picked up at a nearby butcher. Yes, pricey, just like steak, and what a special treat.

Tablas Creek is a very nice winery. The staff is super knowledgeable and the wines were "voted" by my friends as quite flavorful. Unlike other wineries, this one brings out six individual glasses for tasting versus reusing the same one. They also supply you with quite a bit of written literature about the etiology of the wines and the vineyards. However, there is no food to purchase or offer. You may wish to call ahead if you have special mobility considerations or need assistance with a wheelchair, etc.

Tablas Creek makes some of my favorite wines, so I knew I would enjoy the visit. I was not expecting such amazing service. Pixie was so incredibly knowledgeable and tailored the information to our interests. It really elevated the experience and was, without question, the best stop of any winery we visited. It didn’t feel like we were just another group- we felt welcomed and appreciated. I’d recommend Tablas Creek to anyone who is looking for more than just a casual tasting.

Get your reservation and you can't go wrong. Pretty drive and nice view from the patio. Wines in the $30 - $80 range were all good; we joined the club. Very knowledgeable server and very flexible. Expect to spend 1 - 1.5 hours. WELL worth the $25 tasting fee.

What a story, legacy, and find for beginners like us!! Very well run operation on all levels.......the way a vineyard should operate. If you want some legacy Rhone style juice and a great education, this is worth the effort.

Tablas Creek, delivered soft elegant whites and creativity. Based on a 1989 collaboration of two families that were Châteauneuf-du-Pape France winemakers. One started the idea of selling futures at Petrus in Bordeaux. Heidi said "These two very high ranked people inadvertently validated Paso Robles as a great area for Rhone varietals when they came here to make them."

Winery is unique in that it not only has NO chemicals but Tablas Creek has three certified levels of special farming techniques: 1). Certified organic, 2). Certified biodynamic 2017 and 3). Regenerative certified 2020. The latter is a ecology approach that sustains the health of the land naturally. Such as, there are 20 sheep that are moved thru the vineyard and provide natural fertilizer. Techniques protect the land such as regular soil testing determine agriculture health, natural ways to capture water, ecology impact eval, etc

The land is heavily limestone which is not found a lot in the area, which allows for dry farming. Despite its dry climate, this area they use no irrigation except for the year-round fall.

The grapes are also unique. Using imported cutting in 1990 started until they planted all 14 Rhone varietals, nearly all processed in1200 gallon French oak foundries, on what is considered neutral French oak (generally doesn't add significant flavors but tones acidity).

MANY wines. Take time to learn and try. See my review of the wines at my blog, wine sage review.
