I gave this 5 stars for what we used it for, which was a stop along the way from San Francisco to Monterey to get out and stretch our legs and take in some beautiful scenery. I wouldn't treat this as a destination in itself, but for our purposes it was great. Even picked up a couple souvenirs from the... More

We're glad they're working to restore this old lighthouse. It's in a beautiful location, with a boardwalk that takes you past the little store to a vantage point over the waves pounding on the headland. We were there at sundown, and caught gorgeous pictures in just about every direction. Well worth the stop, and reading the information as you walk... More

Pigeon Point is set conveniently off scenic Route 1 and easy to stop and visit. For the Lighthouse enthusiast you don't want to miss seeing and photographing this beautifully landscaped piece of history!

Lighthouse fanciers will love this location for its rugged setting. Spring in this location brings an abundance of wild flowers, which combined with the windswept rocky coastline and the crashing surf, is a scenic delight.

One of the best stops along the Cabrillo Highway. There is the Historic Pigeon Point Lighthouse, great views in every direction and a stairway down to the beach where you can explore the tide pools at low tide. Check the local tide charts before you go. Well worth the stop.

Spent an hour taking photos and reading about the history of the lighthouse. Worth a stop. Kids love it.

This isn't the kind of place you're likely to stay all day, but it's a nice short break while driving down Route 1. There's lots of good photos to be had here. The lighthouse itself is pretty interesting, and the location has a lot of big waves, too. Like most places along Route 1 it can be very windy and... More

We had passed Pigeon Point Light Station many times, driving up to San Francisco from Monterey, or farther south, but never had the time to stop. On this trip, we had nothing to do, until dinner that night in the City, so finally pulled over, to explore. I grew up near a light house in Biloxi, MS (in construction, similar... More
