A beautiful old lighthouse in need of love. A great vantage point to view whales and wild flowers. There is a hostel there as well with fantastic views.

About 50 miles south of San Francisco, this is a historical spot and a must visit place. We reached there after 6 in the evening to witness a beautiful sunset. Unfortunately we were not able to see the museum holding the first order 16 feet...More

The Pigeon Point Light station is an amazing historical site near Pescadero. The lighthouse is currently being renovated but the photo opportunities are still amazing. The fresnel lens is quite impressive. Located just a short distance off Highway 1, well worth a stop on your...More

Nice place to spend and relax for a few minutes. Free public toilets too. Small gift shop and good views. We spotted some dolphins and seals. Very windy. Gift shop keeper was very friendly to us.

Pigeon Point Light Station is definitely worth a visit when in Pescadero. The lighthouse is currently under renovation, but we were able to check out its gorgeous Fresnel lens in the park's museum. The central California coastline is just beautiful at this location, which is...More

We were staying in Half Moon Bay and drove out to the lighthouse. I’m so glad we did. Not only was the drive beautiful, the lighthouse was something special to see. It’s closed to be able to go enter or get to close, but the...More

The docent in the visitor's center has great stories for young and old. The old Fresnel lens is an impressive piece to see right up close and there were a lot of educational interactive displays for a small single-room visitors center. This is an easy...More

Just a great way to take a break and a short walk during a drive. Beautiful. There is a gift shop, places to picnic, possible whale spottings, and great beach walks.

The views were nice... the lighthouse itself was being repaired, so we did not get to see as much as I would have liked. Saw the large Fresnel Lenses that have been used in the lighthouse to direct the light source in all directions.

Actually, I would recommend that you have a flashlight. There are lights around, but not a sufficient amount to really light up the area.

Unfortunately, there is no public transportation to Pigeon Point from anywhere. If you are in one of the cities on the peninsula or in South Bay, the best way to get there is probably to HWY 92 to Halfmoon Bay, and then... More
