We all enjoyed the coastal beauty and occasional rainbows during our afternoon walk out to see the remaining Elephant seal males, females, weaners and pups. Our guide was energetic, friendly and knowledgeable. We all learned something about the seals by the end of our tour.

Get ready to see nature as it should be. I am glad that there are place where you can get close to the wild animal without disturbing their natural habitat. This park is on the route 1 and in order to get to the seals you will have to walk a mile or mile and a half the complete trip... More

Fantastic place to see wildlife. In addition to the seals, we've also seen condors. Just a magical place to visit.

Just around 22 miles from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco, is a whole new world of wildlife and stunning seascape. Come take a tour of one of the most thriving elephant seal colonies on the west coast. The elephant seals were hunted to near extinction. With wildlife protection measures, the elephant seal population has bounced back into the... More

It was cold and rainy when we were there, which is actually a GREAT time to see these amazing creatures. They get hot on land, so the colder it is the more active they are. January is a fantastic time and you'll get to have a guided tour. Our guide had been a ranger in the park for 30 years... More

An ideal, inexpensive and great natural trail for a great outdoor activity in the California winter.

The walk took about 45 minutes each way, with some on sand, including a decent hill, so it was a long hike. A reviewer stated you're walking through marshes and standing water -completely false. Someone else said you're not close. There were at least 10 seals within 25 feet of where I was standing. There is a dirt path as... More

From the Coastal Highway it is very close to the State Park gate, and not much further to the parking lot. But be prepared for about a 2 mile walk to reach the first point of elephant seal observation. The trail is well marked, flat and easy, albeit very sandy for one stretch. We only had time to go to... Visited in early October. it was great talking to the rangers.all very knowledgeable. We saw many juveniles on the beach, sparring and chilling. A bit of a walk but definitely worth it.
