Great views, Pay $7 to park.

Stretched the legs a bit during a reunion weekend. Rolling hills on single track trails.A few different loops.

Favorite family hike for sure. So much so that our son has had his birthday party here twice. Dog loves it, too. Beautiful views and nice open space. Depending on how you access the trails, may have to pay a parking fee - cash only - and they ticket if you don't pay!

The views are excellent and in the spring, the green hills make for very nice scenery. The other good thing is that the park is close to town. The negatives are that most of the trails are not shaded so the summer hiking is not very pleasant. I guess I am spoiled by the trails near Point Reyes and the... More

I just got back from a hike in our gem of a park. A mile or so from downtown Petaluma, Helen Putnam regional, lies just to the West. The main entrance is off Chileno Valley Rd. From downtown take Western to Chileno Valley. Parking is $7. There is room for horse trailers, leashed dogs are welcome. There are numerous trails,... More

Quite a variety of hiking trails throughout this park and a great local option for a walk, job, horseback ride or bike ride. Trail can be a bit steep in some areas, so would probably encourage baby strollers to stay on the paved road. Be sure to have a leash close for your dog as it is not unheard of... More

Helen Putnam park is a breath of fresh air very close to town. I walk there from my house to get away from the noise and traffic of Petaluma. There are both sunny and shaded paths, some very open and others tucked away. It is great to be able to walk to open space and not see a trace of... More

I recommend this place for hiking or walking. My husband and I track our walks there frequently. We usually follow the trails for about 1 hr. It is a great up and down hill challenge. The walkways are pavement and dirt mixture. Nice people are always walking there and are friendly. If you want a difficult hill challenge you can... More

A beautiful place to enjoy the outdoors. Close to downtown but yet feels remote when you are hiking. Easy parking and there are bathrooms available

This is a beautiful park in the heart of Petaluma. Nice paths, some paved. Scenery is really great but not a lot of shade as you walk so bring a hat!

This park has beautiful views all around, and the hike is not too strenuous depending on the trails you take. There is a small pond where people fish and a park for kids to play in, as well as miles of hiking trails (dirt and paved). There are also many benches throughout along the trails which is great to take... More
