Anderson Valley is wine country as it should be - - great wines, no crowds, no price-gouging, super-friendly locals, beautiful location. One visit to AV will make it difficult to ever return to Napa or Sonoma.

Lots of wineries, beautiful countryside. We like to stay at the Madrones in Philo on our way up to Mendocino. Visit great wineries like Navarro, Golden Eye, Handley, Roederer. Take a hike in Handley Redwoods. Stop in Boonville.
Went wine tasting at several wineries. Very fun, people are extremely friendly and laid back. This NOT Napa Valley.. leave your snooty attitudes on the other side of the valley and enjoy the great wine and people.
