Our 4th year visiting Amador County wineries (en route from a South Lake Tahoe stay and home to Monterey Bay area). We love staying at the Sutter Creek Hotel. We visited 4 wineries on Shenandoah Road this day. Young's was the first. Beautiful setting. Would be great for a picnic. Our hostess was great. We bought a Zinfandel for $29 and the reasonable $5 tasting fee was waived with a bottle purchased. Other wineries visited: Borjon, Amador Cellars, Scott Harvey.

This Vineyard/winery was by far the most beautiful and friendly and accommodating I’ve ever been to . The views are amazing and on comparable to anything I’ve seen. . Being able to sit in the vineyard and sip wine relax take your own picnic whatever you want is just so amazing I highly highly highly recommend this place .

The winery is a State of the art at best Napa style. Their wines are very nicely develop and aged. They have a excellent bistro where you can enjoy sipping wine and savoring beatifull cheeses

This winery has a beautiful setting on Shenandoah Road just outside of Plymouth. I did something I have never done before. I walked out on a tasting (I did pay the fee) not because of bad wine or slow service but because of very small tasting pours. So small I could not actually get a taste of the wine. Were they trying to save money? Well they lost because I was looking for some good reds to purchase. In the future before I agree to pay for a tasting I am going to try to find out how much of a pour is considered a taste.

This is one of my favorite places to go wine tasting in Amador County. Great location close to Plymouth. Consistently good wines, the Syrah and Barbera are some of the best I've ever had.
