This was our first visit to this winery. One note, be sure to look for their sign on Steiner road - google will take you past the turn off. They have set up out side in a very nice covered location. The big cat greats everyone. We were very pleased with their wines. The have a good selection of wines to taste and we enjoyed them all. Would definitely come back again.…

Dobra Zemlja makes the only Zinfandel I can drink. I am HIGHLY allergic to sulfites and haven't dared to drink Zinfandels for years because of it. A friend in Amador country took me here, to Dobra Zemlya, and encouraged me to try it. DELICIOUS and NO BITE. I bought a case. Drank it and shared it with friends..a month later, bought another case over the phone and had it shipped. I moved farther away and so haven't enjoyed any more for a while now...but this is the only red (and a hearty red at that) that I can enjoy without the fearsome allergic headache reaction. To the traveler who wrote they were disappointed the label says "sulfite free" that's probably some California law...trust the owners when they tell you that your sulfite-allergic friends will love it. And you know, "zinfandel grape come from Croatia" - proven by DNA tests. Try it. Amazing. Wonderful place.…

Very heavy and intense wines, hinting back to Hungarian Bull's Blood tradition. Service very competent and friendly. Company cat old and very friendly.

Any time we are in the area, Dobra Zemlja is our first stop as it opens at 10:00am daily. The winemaker, Milan is such a character and you will find him featured on the labels of the Milan Ruz (say it out loud) which deserves a second look. He is featured twice on the label as he is holding the jug. We have the jug where he is wearing his pink tutu and we bring it back for refills when we visit. The wine is always a treat. Each year, it is entirely individual and we have never been disappointed. We have always been welcomed with open arms and generally leave with our arms full of great wine to bring home. We enjoy learning about their interesting blends and creative winemaking. The picnic area outside is beautiful and serene. Just remember, it gets really hot up there in the summertime and while there is shade, there is no relief from the intense heat. Definitely, if you are in the area, drop in and enjoy an entirely different vibe from any other winery you will ever visit.…
