Shady Peaceful Place

We had a morning reservation and sadly we had the entire winery to ourselves. We loved this but it always makes me worry with all the Covid going on if these wonderful off the beaten path wineries will continue to survive.
We each had different tastings and loved the MV Chardonnay and the SHR Zin. But I fell in love with the Ghost Pepper Jardines Salsa and the Marinade. Staff were wonderful and the house cats were very friendly.

Great reopening
Jun. 2020 • Couples
This fabulous winery reopened last week, by reservation only amid covid 19, and did it right! All employees in masks, guests in masks except when tasting. Plexiglass shields, a new glass used for each and every taste. Only four tasters allowed inside at a given hour. Outside, under the spacious covered patio, black table clothes were laid before outdoor tasting or picnicking began. The staff was superb as always. Thank you Stacy, Irene, Riley, and Lindsay for making our day at Terra d’ Oro a memorable during this pandemic.

For my flight, I chose the Italian
Nov. 2019 • Couples
Five tastes for $10.00 for their Italian style wines. I liked them all, but back home my wine cooler is full, storage has become a problem. I have already purchased more than I should have on this mini trip and am hoping we can manage to drink a couple of recent purchases over the Thanksgiving Holidays. Great gifts in their shop, 15 years ago I was given a wine themed shirt, purchased here, that I continue to receive compliments on. I usually only wear it to wine tastings or to themed events. Our host had just yesterday spent 3 days at Disneyland and returned at 3 AM. It was a Grandmother, Mother, and Daughter trip.

Good wines and Friendly people

Good wines and Friendly people. Hard to say more. The grounds are great and nothing better than sharing a bottle of wine with friend and family.

Love this place
Oct. 2018 • Couples
Headed "over the hill" from Reno for our spring visit to Amador County to pick up our wines. 1st stop our favorite Terr d' Oro. Wine, staff and experience is the best. Love this place. We have visited many wineries in the area and this place provides great wine and a decent price. Give it a shot you'll be glad you did.

Great day trip from Sacramento, very nice wines!
Sep. 2018 • Family
This was my first trip to TdO but I have enjoyed several of their wines. Pleasant drive in the country, but considerably more traffic than 30 years ago 😅! The winery location is well laid out, enough things to keep the grandkids entertained while the adults tasted and shopped. Still can’t get used to “ paying” to sample something they want you to buy, but I guess that’s how all wineries do it these days. They have a very nice Muscato so we took enough home for the remainder of the summer and for the coming Holiday season. I also was impressed with their Zinfandel so took a bit of it back to Oregon. Several bottles of their Barbera and Petite Sirah finished off our order! Sorry, not a white wine person but I’m sure they have something for those who are. Remember, bring a designated driver!

Friendliest tastin room personnel

The grounds are beautiful and inviting. The tasting room is large and accommodating. The personnel are enthusiastic and clearly interested in ensuring that the visitors have a good time. No pushy sales here.

Somewhat touristy wine destination with pleasant wines
Nov. 2017 • Couples
This winery has a mix of wines, some very nice, some ok, and some which were, well, odd. The staff is very nice and welcoming so that makes up somewhat. The tasting room is large and heavy on selling wine experience stuff. The grounds are expansive and a great place for a picnic. The picnic angle is probably the reason to come here and try the wines to find something you like.

Can't Go Wrong Here

First visit unwittingly on the Amador crush celebration near end of day. Lovely facility; great parking; gracious staff; snacks and gifts for purchase; and .... great, nicely-priced wine.
