We had not been tasting in Amador County before and were nicely surprised by the quality of the wines and wineries. The owners and wine makers, Steve and Jamie were servers. We enjoyed the wines including the barbera, tempranillo, and petite sirah. The winery offered food pairings which enhanced the experience. Great conversation and wines.

Steve and Jaime put their heart and enthusiasm into making excellent small batch red wines. They take advantage of the five grape varieties grown on the property to make tremendous blends like El Diablo and the Ranger. They use a combination of new and aged French oak to extract flavors. My personal favorite is the Barbera and Tempranillo that repeatedly gets acclaim. A good place to picnic with outstanding vintages to be poured. Winery dogs often on premises to greet you. $5 tasting, waived on purchases. Barrel tasting on futures and other special events are most enjoyable here. Just 2 miles from town of Plymouth on way to Ione. Handicap accessible.

When checking out local wineries to try on a Saturday morning this totally caught my eye. The descriptions of the wines caught my eye. The wines we tasted will bring me back. One of the puppies met us as we walked up to the tasting room. You know they are winery dogs because they are fantastic around people. So mellow. So we tried almost all of the award winning wines and enjoyed the conversation with the owners a husband and wife that were wonderful to visit with. Came home with 4 wines and would have loved more. Missed out on the vintage port but got the Italian Job a great blend and some Primitivo along with a great Petite Sirah. Friends that I was with joined the club so I know there will be more of this fantastic wine in my future.

Convergence is a great little boutique winery located in Amador County. The wines consistently win awards at all of the California wine competitions. Several have won double gold, best in class and best of show awards. Steve and Jamie Concannon will make you feel welcome and will teach you a lot about wine and food pairing. They are only open Fridays through Sundays. check their web site for info on current pairings. They always do an ice cream and wine pairing in August.

Jamie and Steve Concannon make the most amazing wines from their small vineyard. Those offered are unique, well-priced, and of excellent quality. Their tasting facility is friendly and you may even get greeted by one of the dogs bringing a toy to welcome you. For a small winery, they offer a large variety of wines.
