Chinese Lantern Festival 2020
Jan. 2020
Attended 1/2/20 with family not knowing what to really expect based upon reviews elsewhere. What a GREAT Experience.
The glowing lanterns were amazing, made for great photos, and the setting was pretty cool being in the botanical garden area.
Parking was easy, and YES, Fairplex charges for parking just to enter.
Would do it again and bring others that would also enjoy viewing the artistic display .
Didn't try any of the food offerings, so can't comment on them.
Drove from the Desert to see this display.
Worth it...

Chinese Lantern Festival
Dec. 2019
I was invited to this spectacle and I am very glad I was able to attend. It's an evening event and I was very impressed by the lighted lanterns and the amazing photo opportunities. Another plus is that it doesn't get super crowded like other events at the Fairplex. Great for children and don't forget to bring your mom - she will be impressed.

Possible Expensive Proposition
Aug. 2019 • Friends
Attended the LA County Fair at the Fairplex. I think the fair is an iconic event for Southern California. It’s the largest of the County fairs for California. The parking and admission prices are reasonable. The cost to ride the amusements are also basically reasonable, but the price for food is very expensive. I did find on the fair’s website that a variety of food vendors were offering a special meal deal. That was a reasonable alternative to the high prices that the vendors were charging. It was not well advertised, but we were able to 1/2 BBQ sandwich, coleslaw, fries, and a soda for $7.00.
I could see a family easily spending a few hundred dollars adding together parking, admission, rides, and food. I don’t know if most families have that in their budget.
The day was very warm, but the air conditioned pavilions were a great break from the heat.
I enjoyed seeing all the artwork displayed by the school children throughout the County. It was a nice day. The Fairplex was clean everything seemed to run effectively. There were many photo opportunities. It was a good day at the fair!

Come ready to spend $
Sep. 2019 • Family
Came through with the fam, great time. Come prepared to spend some money, 16oz icee with souvenir cup is $8. King taco 3 burritos + nachos $40 parking $15 or $25 for VIP - $12 for adult entry $8 for kids ages 6-12 - wristband for unlimited rides $50 - 100 tickets for $50 each game cost around 12-16 tickets each so it goes fast. Just come prepared especially if you have a family. Other than that a great time. Great event.

any event that goes on here is always filled with confusion.
parking lot attendants have no idea of who what or why. supervisors have their own rules.then there are the fees wow you think with all the money they bring in for parking that they would invest in fixing the parking lot. (like repaving) Any how the events can be spectacular. just be prepared for anything.

the management of the fair, has turned this into a overpriced swapmeet, by the time you park ( not preferred), and pay for 2 adults and 2 kids your broke, it dirty, most of the help dosen't spead english, so good luck finding anything.
If your going to spend this kind of money go to Disneyland.

Springfest
Mar. 2019 • Couples
Was there for Spring Fest, a big facility for a lot of cars. Racing was okay, track could use a little more work. Plenty of food vendors. So overall it was good.

Went to the LA Fairplex to attend the Grand National Roadster Show. Very nice buildings and well-kept grounds. Typical food vendors.
