We were staying in Redding for a few days and of course they like to promote their Sundial Bridge as an attraction. I really didn't have a great desire to see it but we happened to be close by eating one evening so we decided...More

This is one of the few places in Redding where you will see people out walking around at almost any time of the day and evening. You can see the Salmon runs in the river and many types of birds. If you come to Redding,...More

Easy to get to and a very short walk, the Sundial Bridge is a beautiful attraction. You can look down into the crystal clear waters of the Sacramento River and often observe nearby wildlife. Well worth a few hours any time of the year.

You can't leave Redding without a walk across the sundial bridge. Truly an iconic amazing structure which projects across the Sacramento River. Amazing colours and contours are on display here.

This was a really interesting piece of architecture that we were glad we visited. We were only stopping over in Redding for one night but I'm glad we did. The girls got a kick out of the pedestrian bridge and world's largest sundial. It was...More

Definitely worth a stroll across the bridge. Try visiting at evening for the cool breeze and nice walk about. Otherwise if you visit during cooler months you can visit nearby botanical gardens and go on some of the trails

If you're in a road trip, Redding is a good place to stay the night. It's a bit more than halfway from LA to Portland. And when in Redding there's not a whole heck of a lot to do... But one thing they have which...More

This is a bridge to nowhere. It is an ornamental bridge, quite fanciful, constructed across the Sacramento river, in a park. The bridge is at the end of the road leading into the park, and allows pedestrians to cross to the opposite site. If you...More

We have drove through Fwy 5 between Los Angeles and Seattle many times and stayed at or near Redding several times in the past. Never knew about this bridge. After reading about it before our eclipse road trip up to Oregon and Washington, we made...More

Yes, I saw people walking their dogs. However, be aware that Redding gets very hot! The glass-top bridge temperatures are too hot for dogs feet. (Think of what it would be like to walk barefoot on a hot stove!!!) Please do... More
