Every year I seem to find myself in a walk through the botanic garden. I get a good idea or two for native and drought tolerant plants. For folks with an interest in birding there are a wide variety of birds. Check out the web for bird sightings.

Parking is 2.00 but worth it. The cactus gardens are spectacular and there are more cactus than you can imagine exist. It is free but it donation of five dollars is requested and it's well worth $5. It is a huge area and really great for inquisitive minds.

Wonderful place to take an easy stroll or a vigorous walk. Your choice! The plant varieties are plentiful, every season brings something new to see. Birds and butterflies are an added bonus, as well as the turtles in the pond. Twice a year the "Friends Of The Gardens" have a native plant sale. Great selection and good prices. Shady areas... Even if you are not an avid horticulturist, this garden offers lots to see and a pleasant setting for a stroll. Even in winter there are species worth viewing.

We found the Botanical Gardens enchanting. We bumped into staff along out peripatetic wanderings. Each person was knowledgeable and eager to share tidbits about the park and its environs with us.... A very pleasant time indeed!

The UCR Botanic Gardens are a bit different from the standard botanical gardens you might expect. The gardens are set out among trails that meander up and down hills - and also include a couple of greenhouses. There is one rose garden but for the most part, the plants don't have a lot of colors other than "green". And there... More

I used to live in riverside while still in high School, and one fond memory was a school trip to this gardens for a science class, and it was my first time going to such a garden. As a typical teenage kid at the time, I never wanted to go and see a bunch of flowers, but this experience opened... More
