My daughter & I met at Old Town Sacramento. We got there early on a Friday morning & parked on the street. Meters are set for up to 2 hours & you can use your credit card. We wandered around town enjoying the different stores. My favorite were the candy stores! We came back before the meter expired & was... More

Was too gimmicky and tacky for my liking. Im sure some people love this sort of this but don't come here if your looking for a more authentic experience.

This is a example of what it was like in the 1800's of Sacramento, CA. There are opportunities to revisit the time that California was an early state of the United States. There are allot of shops and restaurants. This is for the family in the day and for adult's in the evening.

My husband and I visited Old Town Sacramento which was wonderful. However, the one negative part of the experience was the Visitors Center. While I was doing some shopping, my husband went into the Visitors Center where he was totally ignored. He was extremely upset, so I decided to go in myself. There were two workers there socializing with each... More

We heard so many recommendations for "Old Sac" that we thought it might be the highlight of our visit. So perhaps our expectations were set too high but we were disappointed. The building facades are well worth seeing but when your first view is of three Tattoo parlours .. well not what we had hoped to see. Very touristy but... More

The underground tours are great. They need to provide more opportunities though because the evening tour is almost impossible to reserve. It is fun to spend the night in a room on the paddle boat, but be aware that the rooms are minuscule. The restaurants in Old Town are good and mostly local venues. Do not skip the railroad museum.... Old Sacramento is still great place to visit even for long-time Sacramento residents. Has several good restaurants and bar-scenes. There are couple comedy scenes and the usual tourist sites are still fun to browse through. The horse drawn carriages always enjoyable.

I have lived in Sacramento for over 30 years. Don't really go on the weekends, parking is not good, and it can get pricy, since you have to keep going back every 1 or so to feed the meter.

This is a fun place to visit. It's a historic old part of Sacramento. There are a lot of good places to eat and to see and do.
