Great place to visit for a trip back in time. Hands on exhibits the whole family can enjoy. There's even a place for the little ones to play with toy trains.

This is a truly great museum. I say this a train enthusiast, but my wife enjoys it there and she is NOT a lover of trains. I've been there many times since it opened in 1981. It just keeps getting better

I love trains so this was the perfect stop for me, but my family and friends loved it too. The collection of trains and the exhibits are incredible. We especially loved the sleeper and dining cars. This museum is well-tended and there's lots to see....More

I walked through it with my 5 year old grandson. He went through parts of it twice. We also watched the short movie and shopped in the gift store. It took about 2 hours, but you might not love it as much as we did! But, you... More

Sacramento Amtrak station is a 5 min walk from the Museum where you can get a train to San Francisco it takes around 2hr 20 min each way.

I try to find out for you the only thing I could find is coach is $12 for adults first class is $20 and there is a membership starting at $30 for adults.916 445 5995 is the number you can call for more questions. Ok good... More
