Visited in December. The river was very high due to dam releases upstream. Discovery park was closed due to flooding. It is always exciting to see the river so full of water in the wintertime.

I was lucky to live near the American River, which has a parkway with bike paths and dirt running trail. Beautiful nature, beautiful water, and even wild life. Wonderful.

Nice area with fishing, trails to walk, birds/wildlife to see and just fun to explore. There are several access points. Fun to just explore, relax and enjoy the scenery.
