Eric our guide made us truly appreciate and learn more about the place and understand CA governance system. The tour is offered for free and is scheduled every hour from open till the last tour at 4pm.

Everyone should take the time to see the Capitol. You can take a tour, or get the map and go on your own. The portraits of the governors are very interesting, esp. Jerry Brown's.

What better way to teach kids (over 10 yrs old I think) to know where the Laws are made and the history of the Capitol. Free entry, beautiful interior of this working Museum. Went on a Sunday so the Senate Chambers were not in session....More

We had a wonderful time on our guided tour of the Capitol. Our guide was not only knowledgeable but thoroughly engaging. We learned about Bacteria Bear and other more notable sculptures throughout the capitol. The displays depicting each city were fun to review (and critique)....More

Beautiful displays of California Counties. Each county has a display of the outstanding products, entertainment, and historic for that county. The rotunda is quite spectacular. very interesting and informative.. Wear some comfortable shoes and don't carry more than is necessary.spend the time to see everything available it takes 2 plus hours but I feel it is worth it.

To sign up for a public tour, please visit Room B-27 in the lower level (basement) of the Capitol. There are signs and docents to direct you. Tours leave on the hour, beginning at 9 am; the last tour leaves at 4 pm. You do... More

Public tours of the Capitol Museum usually last from 45 minutes to an hour. You may leave early if you need to.
