Any first time visitor to Sacramento should walk the halls of this beautiful, historic building. The woodwork is outstanding and the architecture is impressive.

This building is rich in history and exquisite architectural detail. Everything from the inlaid tile floors ti the staun-glassed dome is in immaculate condition. I highly recommend visting the California State Capital building.

It can be as quick or as long as you like but make time to see this. The building is beautiful, full of history; we missed the tour, that was disappointing but looked around ourselves.

To sign up for a public tour, please visit Room B-27 in the lower level (basement) of the Capitol. There are signs and docents to direct you. Tours leave on the hour, beginning at 9 am; the last tour leaves at 4 pm. You do... More

Public tours of the Capitol Museum usually last from 45 minutes to an hour. You may leave early if you need to.
