We attended Mass at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament on a Holy Day (Aug. 15 - the Assumption of Mary) in the afternoon. The Cathedral was stunning and has been well preserved. The pipe organ was played for every song sung during the Mass...More

The Cathedral is a pretty church in the heart of downtown Sacramento to blocks from the capital. During the hot summer days, it is a "cool" place to visit. It's a nice place to sit and contemplate life if not pray.

Unfortunately for us this did not open until 10 AM. We were able to see the front of the outside and it was quite beautiful.

My first visit to the Cathedral was to see Chanticleer perform a Christmas concert, which was so acoustically clear and thrilling to see in this beautiful setting. The second was for a wedding. Both visits inspired me to want to become a catholic just so...More

I didn't enter the building but stood in awe outside of it. It was absolutely gorgeous. I saw inside the building from the sidewalk and I imagine it was lovelier in side.

I enjoyed sitting in this church - I was in time for mass to begin. I stayed for a few minutes longer but while I was there, I enjoyed the architecture and stained glass windows. Lovely.

As a native Sacramentan, can't believe I never saw this beauty before. I traveled to Europe, thrilling at the gorgeous and solemn cathedrals all over the continent. Wish I'd known this was in my backyard. Do't expect a professional tour guide, but hey, it's free,...More

We've had an opportunity to visit the cathedral as well as attend mass at this beautiful church. It is not unusual to find Bishop Soto conducting mass and welcoming the parishoners

This is not a place that would glorify God. You may want to visit a church that offers Gospel music for that or Christian Rock music. Or, watch a concert at the newly built Arena downtown. God created the music, thus go... More
