Undoubtably the best red wine we have had in Napa. The Cab’s were to die for….all of them. Served on the veranda, our wine server, Rachel, was amazing, and let us revisit some of the best wines we have had in Napa. I never paid over $40 for a bottle of wine, but purchased 2-bottles of their “Discussion” cab…the most amazing wine we have ever tasted..at $250/bottle…WORTH IT!

One of the neighborhood winery and tasting rooms and a previous wine addition to Delta One Business Class, I thought it was time to explore Duckhorn. Bought shares of Duckhorn when it went public, a rarity in the winery world and sold my shares before they sank, but that’s no reflection on the actual wines or this gorgeous property. I do have to pushback against the addition of Semillion to their Sauvignon Blanc, what a way to dull a shine! But, their wonderful Carneros Chardonnay and tasty Chardonnay/Viognier blend brought me back to center. Tasting room host Jessica was a star and had her knowledgeable tasting notes down to a science!

Went for a tasting just after lunch on a Monday. We were there through a particularly high heat wave in Napa. We sat inside in the main tasting room area and enjoyed the views and the pretty tasting room.
Most of the wines are heavy Merlot which is their thing, however not ours and a tough place to start the tasting day given the dryness of the wine. The wines got easier as we progressed toward their premium blends and Cabernets.
Recommend for Merlot lovers but maybe not the first place of the day.

My daughter and I visited Duckhorn Vineyards for my 60th birthday. We were seated outside in a quaint, beautiful setting. Chris, who tended to us, poured all our wines for the tasting and informed us about each wine and the history of Duckhorn. We didn’t feel rushed. We didn’t feel pressured, we felt like we could take as much time as we wanted to enjoy each wine. We had the pleasure of talking to Chris, who not only educated us about the wines, but also gave us some great tips for sites restaurants and things around Napa Valley. We thoroughly enjoyed Duckhorn Vineyards and Chris who made our visit feel special.

We didn’t do the tasting simply because we are very familiar with excellent Duckhorn wines. Maybe next time we will do out to try their exclusives. We frequently buy Duckhorn Decoy reds as they are not too expensive but excellent nonetheless. However, they pride themselves with their exclusive and expensive Cabernets and this is what we would like to taste.
The Duckhorn estate is huge and they own several other wineries in the region (Paraduxx I’d one of them).
We loved their beautifully landscaped premises, the sitting area and the interior. Very happy we stopped by.

This winery is no longer a guest friendly family
Winery. Rather we learned it was purchased by private equity, and in our opinion is being run with solely profits in mind.
The server was dashing between tables pouring very small pours of wine, and we expect that the only way he knew what to pour was where the glass was located on the paper description below. Only at the end did he take time to engage with us (presumably to sell wine).
There was no inquiry as to what we liked or our buying habits. It probably didn't matter because the wine prices were equal to or higher than what they were on line.
We also ordered the $30 cheese plate, which sells for about $20 at other wineries, but got to keep the small wooden board on which everything was placed. It contained a nice selection of 4 cheeses and miscellaneous.
We have been big Duckhorn purchasers in the past, but this experience certainly turned us off to the brand.

We enjoyed a wine tasting at Duckhorn on their outside patio. It was a rainy cool day but we were comfortable at our table with the heaters. The wines are very good, slightly more expensive than other wineries we had visited previously. Our served was friendly and knowledgeable. It was a wonderful experience.

One of the most beautiful places in Napa with a tasting that has an unmatched array of wines that offers something for everyone, no matter your wine preferences. Duckhorn, Paraduxx, Goldeneye, Migration, Decoy, and Calera just to name a few - hard to find a tasting that provides such quality across so many different varietals. Also love the ability to taste 6+ wines at the same time to be able to compare / contrast different wines.
As for hospitality, the place is unbeaten. Geordy will take you on a wine journey across time and space while even throwing in a few free jokes along the way.
A must-visit during your time in Napa.

I had a great tasting experience at Duckhorn! My wife and I were seated outside on the terrace on an afternoon with beautiful weather. The terrace was quiet and there was some music in the background, but not enough to detract from the experience. If you want a relaxing experience, the terrace is a great place to sit. We enjoyed all of the wines we sampled but the real star of the show was Miguel.
Of the wineries we visited on this trip, our tasting at Duckhorn was at the top and that can be fully attributed to our experience with Miguel. Miguel is very cheery and it is obvious that he loves what he does. He was able to talk us through our tasting in an entertaining and informative fashion. Normally my wife and I prefer smaller wineries with more personal service so we weren’t expecting much from a winery as big as Duckhorn, but the atmosphere they have curated along with Miguel’s personalized attention really impressed us. If you want a good tasting experience, go to Duckhorn and get a tasting with Miguel and you will not be disappointed!

Every visit to Napa always includes a visit to Duckhorn Winery not only because we are members but first and foremost it is our favorite wine. Duckhorn Winery never disappoints with each visit. Every visit offers a different Wine Educator and overall experience which keeps it fresh and memorable. On this visit, our Wine Educator was Olivia and she was outstanding! Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and offered our "welcome glass" of their Sauvignon Blanc. In the past, we were never really huge fans of Sauvignon Blanc, however, that all changed when we were introduced to Duckhorn's Sauvignon Blanc. We always make sure to include a few bottles whenever we place our order. On this visit, we were introduced to the Patzimaro line with its history honoring the Hurtado Family who were one of the original team members of the Duckhorn Vineyards. The Patzimaro Cabernet Sauvignon was quite special and we truly enjoyed the structure and balance it offered our palates. We are always very impressed with and learn something new from the Wine Educators who host us during each of our visits over the years. This visit was no exception. Olivia was very engaging and paid close attention to our preferences in subtly monitoring our reactions/responses to each of the wines she poured for us. We are already looking forward to our next visit when travel is allowed and the world is healthy again.

Has anyone tried one of their more elite tastings? Worth it???
Written September 14, 2016
No we didn't try one of their elite or reserve tastings. What kind of wines do you like? If it's Zinfandels I would also highly recommend Rombauer. It's right up the road from there. Bring a box lunch and sit out under the trees and look out over the valley. Duckhorn does have some very good and expensive cabs too. Sit on the beautiful porch. You won't be sorry.

Hello- Are walk up tastings available, or do you have to have a reservation? Thank you!
Written May 24, 2016
Definitely recommended to make advance reservation, but if you are lucky and they have room they will accommodate you.
Written May 25, 2016
Hi, how long does the wine tasting last? Is it about an hour? We are limited on time so we would love to know how long it takes as it looks wonderful! Thank so much!
Written April 18, 2016
You can make it go quickly if you want - just tell them you have limited time.
