If you have read any Steinbeck (and even if you haven't), the museum is really intriguing. A very of the Old West, the struggle with migrant labor, the emergence of California as a national source of food, and a sense of nascent American literature befor...More

You do learn a lot about CA history while you are here. My kids enjoyed it even if they know nothing about Steinbeck. The staff is nice and they had a scavenger hunt for my child (ended up getting a book). Definitely should visit once....More

Great place to visit if you are a reader of the famous author. The Salinas-Watsonville-Castroville-Monterey farming and fishing areas are well represented with cameos and vignettes in the displays and memorabilia, and the agricultural communities well-honored, including Latino, in the short film. I was not...More

You don't need to love Steinbeck or his work as much as I do to really enjoy and appreciate this lovely little museum. If you are visiting Carmel or Monterey it is only a short drive through the wide farm fields to Salinas. In his...More

I don't believe so. You could call and find out. It is self guided and there are many movie clips so I don't think it would be possible. It's not large enough for a docent tour. Read all of your Steinbeck books before you go!
