The Monterey Peninsula's love affair with world-class racing traces its beginnings to the inaugural running of the Pebble Beach Road Races in 1950. Those sports car events quickly outgrew the public roads of the Del Monte Forest and a beautiful new road facility was born on November 9, 1957.Since then, Monterey has been visited by some of the most prestigious racers in history; Roger Penske, Dan Gurney, Parnelli Jones, Kenny Roberts, Bobby Rahal, Wayne Rainey and Valentino Rossi to name a few. The late 60's and 1970's may be remembered as the "Can-Am Years," but it was also the debut of Trans Am, IMSA and AMA motorcycles. CART Indy Car racing and Grand Prix Motorcycling put their stamp on the track in the 80's and 90's. More recently, the huge evolution MotoGP has created a phenomenal global following for the track.Today, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca hosts five world-class race weekends each season, with elite road racing series from around the world visiting the Monterey Peninsula every year.

I have been coming back to this track for years. It is probably one of the nicest road courses in the country. Ranks up there with Road America, Lime Rock..... The management has added small improvements for the fans just about every year. It is far different from my first visit in 1975. When coming to this track, be sure... More

We attended the IMSA races here in April. This is a fascinating, technical road course- wonderful for drivers but just ok for fans. It can be challenging for fans to move to different parts of the track, however there are lots of shuttles to help. Lots of hills, and it can be hot and dry, and cold and windy all... More

We are visiting from Colorado and decided to go to the Continental Monterey Grand Prix here and boy was it amazing. The track is set up very nicely so you can view multiple multiple spots of the track, you can sit in the stands in a few spots or bring your own chair and kick it where ever you want... More

Was able to start and finish my bike race on the raceway, just knowing of all the race cars that have driven over the same road makes you ride even faster. I am so excited to be able to be a part of this event, Sea Otter Classic and will continue to participate every year!

Held at the Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway, Hooked on Driving (HOD) teaches high performance driving techniques to novices and more experienced amateurs. What a great, exhilarating day of classroom and track driving time. Safety is stressed at all times. Classroom, skid pad, and track instruction all in one fabulous day. A BLAST!! HOD numerous other events at other venues.

I'm actually in an RV campsite overlooking the racetrack across from the bleachers and the views are superb. Take a Mazda for a spin on the racetrack or just visit the gift shop.

Drove the track at Laguna. What a treat! Participated in the track school event through Hooked-On-Driving, which is an excellent program to learn to drive a race track. The track is spirited and offers continuous challenges regardless of your experience. I've come to appreciate all the turns on the course, but the Corkscrew (turns 8 and 8a) is always a... More

MRLS, in cooperation with PORCHE NORTH AMERICA, did a wonderful job with hosting this important event. RENNESPORT V was a great celebration of PORCHE'S history. It was, for automobile enthusiasts, a wonderful weekend of people, racing, auto history, and appreciation of one of the World's great automobiles. MRLS staff and facilities were at their best. Any person interested in automobiles,... More

I've been around road racing most of my life but have never been here or Sonoma....until this week. Tv and photos don't do it justice. The racing history that was made on these hills and turns boggles the mind. I had to watch the AMG group circle the track, lap after lap, and after 15 minutes I was greener with... More

Laguna Seca is an iconic raceway. I'm most familiar with motorcycle racing - and this is a great world class track and facility. The area is large and attractive, multi-purpose, with some attractive views across the hills and valleys.
