This beach is nothing special as far as California beaches go, but it's saving grace is that it's not crowded because of that. The town and beach are both pretty quiet as far as beach towns go.

This beach is a little tricky to get to if you have never been there before and parking is difficult to find (even on a weekday). The beach is a little rocky for younger kids, but the teenagers loved going out on the body boards....More

It tends to be overcrowded on weekends, and sometimes it can be a bear to find parking. I think that parking cost about $1.25 an hour. I never can figure out how long I will be there, so I don't know how much to put...More

Lovely beach with access from the hotels and camping area. Little area to purchase food and enjoy while watching the amtrak go by. Beautiful cliffs. Water is clear and has some waves. Just a lovely area.

Loved the beach but the big rocks are just too much for our little family. It will be better with water shoes for your children to enjoy. We did take family pictures that came out awesome...just too many rocks for our 12 and 7 year...More

I don't remember any signs or mentions in the park's brochures about pool floats, so I believe that you can enjoy your use of pool floats during your stay.

Yes dogs are allowed on the beach trails and also the salt creek beach trail in Dana Point. Most beaches are somewhat dog friendly (Google rules and look for signs) to some degree in the OC. Officially off leash dog beaches... More
