I took a nice walk at Cesar Chavez Park in downtown San Jose. Flowers were in bloom. It was peaceful. I also took a picture of the Plumed Serpent Statue (Quetzalcóatl Sculpture ) which is in the south end of the park.

Great holiday event for the young and old. Ice rink with the tree lighting and several programmed events makes it a great time for a family outing. Everything from a community stage for small event programs to hot cocoa stand and a new tavern for other beverages. Parking may be tough so plan ahead for a couple locations.

From the water fountains to the extravaganza of Christmas in the Park, this park really is beautiful for both adults and children to enjoy. The park is in the middle of the road (it splits the directions of traffic so please be careful walking to and from the park as well as driving near it (especially during Christmas in the Park).

We went to the yearly celebration Christmas in the Park. Its a yearly event. There are lots of Christmas trees decorated by different groups in the community, There are lots of cute Christmas scenes.
There is rides and ice skating. There is the Santa House, There is the large Christmas tree.
Its lots of fun and always on our "must" visit list during the Christmas holiday season.
It is held at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park.

The summer Music in the Park is sensational. Free concerts, nice crowd, and plenty of dancing. I go every year just to see friends from previous years. Did I say free?

This place was such a disappointment- it literally is the dullest central square that I've ever seen in a city. It was also full of shady characters with no buzz about it and nothing to do.

Christmas in the park in San Jose is a great family fun event. Lots lots to do, rides for the kids, partly a carnival atmosphere with lots of fun Christmas displays that are nice attention grabbers for children of all ages. There's plenty of neat kiosks as well , in addition to close walk-in proximity to nice downtown stores. This was our first annual trip to this , and we are already planning a couple trips next year

Looks very entertaining & a fun place to take the family. Nice place to cool off with the kids & all ages. They even have some oversized chairs to sit in & also some picnic tables.

This downtown park themed plaza may not compare well to the great public spaces like The Grand Square of Krakow, Florence's Piazza della Signoria or Mexico City's Plaza Hidalgo but it is pleasant and lively enough during the day. There are three hotels nearby and a central fountain that draws crowds of children during the summer. At night, however, the place is as dead as a graveyard and there is not a single reason to stroll around there after dusk unless you're seeking the thrill of getting to befriend the local homeless population

We have so much fun at Christmas in the Park. We usually go at night, but today, we were in downtown San Jose and went during the day time We found the park equally nice to see in the daylight hours. Christmas music was playing. There are nice holiday displays, many Christmas Trees including a very large one; Santa House; vendors, and much more.
There were people but far less people than the evening. It was so pleasant. We even found parking easily and very close to the park
There is also an ice rink, ferris wheel, vendor, and other things to do during this popular holiday festival in San Jose.
I like it that school children, local organizations, and commercial places (like Orchard Supply) all come together to show off their trees and other things at Christmas at the Park festival.
The park is a popular place the rest of the year and is a center point close to the hotels and restaurant area of San Jose.
