My visit to this Mission was the second of my 6 visits to the 21 missions. The Mission is located on a Creek in the center of town and right off one of the main shopping streets. Restoration done with tact.

Definitely a historical site worth a visit, but if you can, attend a Mass. You will feel like you have come home! Plus, the best gift shop ever! Great religious items and unique pieces.

Nice small museum, and is free, unlike some other mission museums. Mission itself is a nice centerpiece to the town of SLO with a nice plaza in front. Definitely a must visit in SLO as it is the center of the town.

Serene and peaceful. I did not know the missions were built by Spanish to protect their territoies from British and Russian interests, not for the religeous purpose. I learned the culture, customs and costumes, etc of the 1772. No enterence fee. I donated by buying...More

A well maintained mission, the church is very beautiful with it’s ‘L’ shape. The grounds and garden is a beautiful strolling place, and the mission is in the center of downtown.

Excellent example of Spanish California and Junipero Serra's legacy. Very serene surroundings-see the whole complex. Surrounded by one of the most charming cities in CA.

Very small grounds at mission itself mostly landscaped. Don’t think they would appreciate pets. Plenty of other open areas in the San Luis environs
