Named because it resembles a bishop's hat, the highest peak of the Morros range is heavily used by hikers and bicyclists. The climb to the top will take anywhere from one to two hours depending on your fitness level.

This was definitely a mountain climb, not walking on paths. Walking sticks are certainly a big help unless you're very experienced. It was beautiful the day we went but if it had been wet, etc it would have been harder.

A really lovely hike for a warm day, through shady forest and then zig-zagging up to the peak, along a well marked trail. The round trip took us a couple of hours, with many stops to admire the view, observe the wildlife and take far...More

Hiking up Bishops Peak with my wife and daughter was a lot of fun. It's a bit steep in places but the view from the top is spectacular. Climbing on top of the rock at the peak should NOT be attempted by someone with a...More

Definitely a hike not for beginners. And take lots of water. We hiked it on a hot day with two older dogs and decided to not go to top for the dogs were overheating. Great views.

Hiked with my college daughter to the top. Sturdy sneakers with good grips a must as it is a bit pulverized towards the top. Nice benches and a memorial plaque reminding visitors of the danger of scaling the rocks beyond the summit. TONS of poison...More

Takes about 90 min up and 30 min down . But I'm old and slow! My teens love this hike. Keep dogs on leash or get big fine. Dog bowl at top.

I hiked this with my son. You do need to be in shape for this hike. :-) I made it to the very top, but just could not get on that lookout rock at the end, because the edge made me too nervous. But, all...More

A majority of the hike yes, however there are certain spots in the trail that get pretty narrow with a steep drop on one side. I would just be cautious not to slip while walking through mud.

The last time I made it to the top it took about 45 minutes. I was in my early 50's and needed to stop and catch my breath. You can hike the trails without going all the way to the top. There are still beautiful vistas.
