We visited from the UK and had never been to a drive -in movie. We loved it! A real '50's drive in experience and the prices seem to have frozen in the 50's too! 2 feature films for $9 per adult, a huge bucket of...More

We enjoy this theatre every chance we get. My husband is tall and is uncomfortable in regular theatre seats. This allows him to stand up often without disrupting those around him. Same with the kids that don't always follow the no talking rule. Snacks are...More

Kids are $4 and under 5 are free - what a great deal! Two first-run movies AND a crazy-cool throwback for the adults in the group. Sound was perfect and plenty of spaces to choose from. Go if you're ok with a few inconsiderate folks...More

My first movie experience was when I was about three - my Dad hated movie theatres but loved the drive in. So he packed up the family in the station wagon with a large paper shopping bag of popcorn and drove us to the Sunset....More

I grew up going to the drive-in movies and it is with dismay that I've seen them slowly but surely disappear. So it was my great surprise - and delight - to discover the Sunset drive-in on one of our many trips up the coast....More

It's significantly cheaper than seeing movies in theaters. They don't have the same amount of selection (obviously there's only one screen) but they usually do show 2 in one night and you don't have to worry about smuggling in your own candy; making it an...More

Little daunted on checking it out during daylight - first visit to a drive in and found a corrugated iron fence around a massive parking lot which all looked a bit shabby. But not at all - helpful lady advised us that yes most ppl...More

There are no drive-in movies in New Zealand so this was a real treat. We saw Alice in wonderland. The movie was great but the atmosphere was the real treat. We pulled up in our rental car with no idea how drive in movies work....More

Take yourself back to simpler times, when drive ins were THE way to see movies. Only now, you can listen in stereo thru your car speakers, and the screen is perfectly clear. Saw Sully ... Great movie. Highly recommend the drive-in, and the movie!

Not too many of these cool old drive in theaters left, but the one here is SLO Town is still alive and kicking. Pack the kids in the car some evening and go to the drive in.....lots of fun and reasonably priced, too.

They usually release film titles a few days in advance. You can follow them on facebook to see what the new showing will be. As a general rule, the first showing of the week ends up as the second showing the next week.

Hello, as far as I know, all you do is park your car and watch the movie (there are no rooms). If you are looking for a hotel, Embassy Suites is very close like the traveler above has said. Good luck, and enjoy the beautiful... More
