We followed the trail. Its pretty easy. Along the coast and you can go down the beach. Some parts along the inn and restaurants Some are along residential beach houses. Go to Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill after.

Didn't think you could reply find Moonstones on the beach with all the human traffic it gets but, lo and behold, I walked to the waters edge and spotted a fine specimen within 5 minutes of hitting the beach!

First start by learning about "moonstones" because you will learn that there are differences. My kids have spent lots of time in the past, as have I, on this beach. Cambria is my first love on the beautiful Central Coast of CA. and Moonstone Beach...More

We love to walk and Moonstone beach is a great place to walk in any kind of weather! Walk on the beach or the board walk!

Moonstone Beach is a wonderful location along California’s Central Coast that offers wide beach (coarse sand and pebbles mixed) & a boardwalk up above that allows for ease of exploration.

Beautiful and secluded. Tide pools were awesome. Peace and serenity at its finest. One of the best beaches in San Simeon. A must see.

This beach is really charming and overall, a beautiful representation of what you expect a California beach to be. It is NOT pet friendly, other than the boardwalk area of it. Beautiful place to watch the sunset.

Not dog friendly, you can only walk your dog on leash on walkway not allowed on beach even on leash. Amazing views.

A beautiful, peaceful, and scenic stretch of the pacific coast that is far less crowded than home (Santa Cruz). Beautiful picnic areas and walking path.

We walk our dogs along the wooden-built trail along the top of the beach area. It's just so beautiful here. We have driven into this place, and we have also stayed in one of the hotels on the row. Moonstone beach has beautiful sand-washed pebbles...More

I would guess that Bruce is probably correct. I actually quit hunting the stones quite some time ago and go down now just to be at water's edge where I have enjoyed this area for so long. Have fun.

I've never seen glass stones on the beach, but I've seen round tumbled-type stones at the very most north end. Follow the boardwalk north, it will end very close to a cement boat ramp. At the bottom of the boat ramp, you can... More

I don't think you'd want to do that at right at Moonstone Beach. There is pretty high currents and undertow around the very rocky shoreline. Go a couple miles north to the beach located right by the Cavalier hotel. They... More
