We have only been on a beach one time. We loved the waves and looking at all the beautiful rocks. The ocean sounds are mesmerizing. Drove to several access points to look around and loved them all.

We arrived at Moonshine Beach which had a wonderful vista. We started down the path towards the beach. There are log steps towards the end then part of the stairs was washed away. The beach did have rocks (moonstones) but nothing special. It was still nice to walk along and breathe the fresh salt air.

We visited here after touring Hearst Castle. The boardwalk parallels the ocean and offers several locations to go down onto the beach itself. One access point put us down on large rocks that we could walk around and observe sea anemones that had been washed up as the tide rose. The whole walk is less than 2 miles with several... More

Nice board walk, title pools and sea lions. The title pools are out among the rocks where the sea water is trapped. They say never put your back to the waves you may get knocked over. Beautiful view of the coast. Ground squirrel also make this area home.

We visited Moonstone Beach park to find nothing but SAND!! Lots of sand. We looked up and down the boardwalk and ran into a guy from the park staff. We asked him where would we find all the moonstones? He informed us the the tide was to high for it. So we proceeded down the wood staircase down to the... More

We could not find the entrance. The beach is long with boardwalk, but if you wish to find moonstone, it is important to pick a spot well. We ended up parking at a small park with a playground and went down to the beach to find small but pretty moonstones. My little one loves stones, so he was thrilled. So... More

Lovely and not crowded. Easy to wander along looking for the hidden gems! Great views. Take some food and watch the sunsets.

Interesting and beautiful stone beach. No real moonstones, but great place for children to hunt for "treasures".

This lovely spot in Cambria is a favorite of mine. I've been many times and could come here daily if I was fortunate enough to live nearby. I see many locals using the trail along the beach. The boardwalk sits above the beach but there are several places to walk down to touch the beach. There used to be tons... More
