Something Special

I just happened to stroll past this beast of a tree and had to snap a quick shot of it for memories sake. It's quite grand!

This is a huge Morton Bay Fig tree, extremely old and provides shelter from the sun. Great photo opportunity.

Drove by on a Hot rod limo trip, and the driver stopped to show us the roots, fabulous span and the layer of compacted figs on the road.

The way the fig grows is so interesting. We saw them in Australia and it was nice to see another. I had not heard of it before going to Santa Barbara.

I personally love figs and cool, unique attractions such as this so thought it was really cool. The true is huge and twisted and you are allowed to climb on it. It's the largest fig tree there is!

A great place to go have a lovely meal with lover, a friend, and husband. I had the most sensual juicy duck liver & thine and leg over succotash cornbread. And for dessert was mouth watering blueberry pineapple upside down cake with a scoop of blueberry ice cream. Sorry ate up the dessert didn't get a photo.

I found this place here and I am so happy that I saved it to be one of the places to go with my family. We planned a trip to Solvang. However, we stopped by Santa Barbara first to see this tree. It is gorgeous! It is a must see if you ever go to Santa Barbara. Mom was amazed... More

When Santa Barbara had the only 101 stop light between the Mexican border crossing and Oregon, the Moreton Bay was club central to vagrants and hitch-hikers going north and south. It's by the train tracks and station and had a seamy reputation. Not so today. The area's been spiffed up, the tree is thriving and it's worth doing a half-block... More

Yes, this has been touted with being the largest fig tree on planet earth. And while I can't prove the veracity of this claim, I can say, it's pretty darn big. Standing anywhere near the Freeway and State Street you will see this behemoth of a tree casting it's shadow. It's a favorite place for the wanderers and vagabonds who... More

The tree and roots are sensational...it's huge and interesting to see. It's on the ocean side of the freeway hidden away and near the funk zone.
