Purchase tickets in the gift shop before entering the museum. The gentleman taking tickets was very welcoming and explained a map of the museum. Allow an hour for viewing and don't forget that there is a second floor.

Good things come in small packages, and that's true of this museum. Many of exhibit areas focus on Santa Barbara's contribution to, or involvement in, specific areas of maritime history, whether deep sea diving equipment, surfboard technology, or nearby shipwrecks. The museum includes special exhibits...More

Surrounded by restaurants and the marina the maritime museum is a great place to visit. There are many excellent exhibits you can even experience marlin fishing on a simulator. Don't miss the periscope, this will give great views out to sea and on land.
