You can do a lot of wine tasting here. There are also a few shops and restaurants but there needs to be lot more in order to call it a 'Funk Zone.' Do wander around it you want concentrated wine tasting while in Santa Barbara...More

Funky; having a strong fancy rhythm; modern and stylish in an unconvential way; late 18th c meaning smelling strong or musty. See also “funky town’ the song. Had dinner one night. Outside, I am from the east coast, and I am not used to being...More

A run down area, call it funky and then restaurants can overcharge for the 'atmosphere'. Very hard to walk on uneven and sometimes non existent sidewalks. Very disappointing.

I can’t believe all the hype made over these few blocks of pretentious restaurants. It’s not funky at all and everything is shut down by 7:00 on the weeknights. Also, the marketing brochure placed in local hotels doesn’t include accurate information.

Took my relatives to the Funk Zone for a easy walk to see the sights and visit some shops and wine tasting rooms. It was a lovely day and the shop owners were all friendly- the wines in Santa Barbara are always great. I recommend...More

Absolutely loved this area for its old life reinvented for today's sensibilities. Old buildings that likely would have been torn down now reclaimed into galleries, wine tasting venues, breweries, some retail (none of it looking mass or chain like). Pleasant to walk around. Lots of...More

This is a case of marketing over substance. A couple of shops and few wine bars was all that was there. I was expecting something a bit more. It is not a place for a families. But great if you want to drink wine. The...More

All about the wine(and beers). Great part of Santa Barbara to just wander around trying out the local wines. Find a war bar with some seats outside and some music, what more could someone ask for!!

My husband and I spent the weekend at the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara. We went to the distillery, 7 Bar, Santa Barbara Winery and the Figueroa Mountain Brewery. Wine tasting ran for $15 for 5 selections of either the white or the reds. Tastings...More

The first thing I said when we arrived at the Funk Zone is how much fun it would be to take my wine group here. We are eight women who travel to wine country. But I don’t think this zone is suitable for people with...More

You would have to check an individual shop for days and times, but the area would not close down. It’s like a mini town.
