This is great opportunity for a walk and chance to unwind. The park affords some brilliant photo ops and a chance to interact with tourists and locals alike. The paths have been set up for cyclists and pedestrians and a very good park.

Yes, there are a many places for just such an activity. Shoreline is a little louder and more of a picnic feel than other beach spots. So Shoreline is good if you want a place to BBQ and have a "party" kind of memorial service. If you want it more quiet and simply beach focused, the beaches a East Beach are wider longer, and easier to find privacy. If you want real seclusion (where I often see small private beach weddings the South end of Summerland Beach is really secluded and private, but harder to carry stuff down the hill. Lots of options.
I wish I knew the answer to that question. I have been there a few times and will go again as my family lives in that area I have always felt that it was just plain luck to see them but if I find out I will post it.
