West Cliff Drive is one of the best walks in Santa Cruz. You can go from the Dream Inn Hotel to Natural Bridges State Park (and back) and meet in-line skaters, parents with kids, and lots of other nice folks. You will see, quite possibly (depending on the season), whales, and almost certainly pelicans and sea lions. It's a not... More

We like to take our visiting friends to walk on this wonderful view coastline. Park a block or so up one of the side-streets, and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. There's a park with a surfing museum that is open occasionally. There are otters in the kelp and swimmers and especially surfers to watch. The gulls and penguins are entertaining, and... More

This is a good place for local walk or bike ride. Good views, access to small beach, lighthouse which is now a museum, rest rooms. However, we were there on a weekday in June, and it was getting close to being too crowded. I would about crowds on weekends. If you have a car, there are better beaches a little... More

This is a great way to spend part of a day to take a leisurely drive along West Cliff Drive. As you go up the road, there is the spectacular natural beauty on one side and the homes on the other side with the million dollar views. There are many places to park between Santa Cruz Surfing Museum and Natural... More

A wonderful walk or bike along sea, cliffs, seals and breeze. Enjoy the view, the air, small public beaches you can step down to, great pause from busy life and breath.

This is an easy paved level walkway for taking in the sights--birds, Monterey Bay, fishing boats. Any place along the 3 mile path from the wharf to Natural Bridges State Beach is a photo op. Weekends can be packed with tourists though.

Watch the surfers, beachcombers, sea lions, waves crashing into cliffs, dogs playing fetch on the sand, or even dolphins and whales up close and personal. Oh, don't forget the spectacular sunsets!

Great bike/walk path and it is a beautiful and pretty easy way to get from the Boardwalk up to Natural Bridges if you want a longer ride. There are lots of places to stop and watch the ocean, surfers, take some beautiful photos and sit or meditate. I took a ride alone and then later in the day with my... More
