With miles of hiking and mountain bike trails extending from the cliffs along the ocean into the mountains above, Wilder Ranch is one of the premier recreational spots in Santa Cruz.

Have gone here several times. Hiking, picnics, biking. The scenery is spectacular! I also attended a child's birthday party here. We came across a bobcat right on the road to the farm house!

Wonderful hiking area. The farm demonstrates life in the 1800's. There is a blacksmith, draft horses , sometime candle making . Good spot for family outing,. The beach is a bit of a hike but worth it. If you don't want to climb back up...More

Entrance Fee was $10 per car if drive up, but there is roadside parking for free but will need to walk a good distance to get to the trails. There are different length trails available and bathroom facility by the paid parking lot. From there...More

We had a beautiful walk. We stopped at the restrooms by the parking lot. They were clean, but if you want to wash your hands, go in the handicapped bathroom. There are no sinks in the non handicapped restrooms. We took the trail to the...More

I don't know what all of the good reviews are about, we went July 3 and it was awful. Restrooms closed down, had to use a porta potty down by the museum part, volunteers and employees everywhere, all attractions locked up. They said we could...More

My friend suggested to go to Wilder Ranch State Park for their old fashioned Independence day. The festival started at 11am so we tried to get there earlier because parking is limited. Since it's a state park, entrance fee is $10. You get tokens at...More

This is a very popular bluff walk. It's fun to go down on the beach and explore the caves. You will see quite a lot of wildlife most days.

Really enjoyed the walk by the sea. Like Point Lobos a lot in Carmel but liked this state park even better. The parking fee of $10 also covers Henry Cowell Redwoods park and Natural Bridges if you go to all 3 in the same day,...More

We were driving to Wilder Ranch State Park and noted an entrance off the highway that had a small parking area (where two lines of cars could park-all parallel). We chose to take it and followed some surfers down to the beach area (about a...More

parking is 10 dollars and it is important to arrive before 10am, preferably by 9 on weekends as the park is very popular and the parking is limited to one lot. People do ride horses on the trail but I am not sure of how to... More

We took the walk to the fern grotto and as I remember there really didn't appear to be anyplace to walk along the beach let alone ride horses. It is a very rocky coastline, at the bottom of a cliff mostly.
