Escape to Africa by way of Sonoma County…Come discover the Sonoma Serengeti. The classic African safari is a trip of a lifetime for intrepid travelers from around the globe - and, it is closer than you think! The entire Safari West experience is a kid-friendly adventure for families to enjoy together. Our tours are designed to educate guests of all ages and we have found that families are truly inspired as they learn from and share with one another. At Safari West we strive to actively promote conservation and environmental education concepts to our guests, whether they are with us for an hour or a week. The whole experience at Safari West is one of building connections and making discoveries; getting back to basics and enjoying the profound simple pleasures of family and nature that are all too often overlooked. If anything is “not to be missed,” it is that sense of serenity one finds while gazing at graceful giraffe nuzzling her newborn or the surge of raw adventure while witnessing an energetic herd of wildebeest galloping across the horizon. Overnight lodging is also available - the true 'glamping' experience!

I was wondering if this place will even be open considering the devastating fire that engulfed the area in October 2017. Luckily, they survived (thanks to the owner staying back and using garden hoses to fight back flames to save the animals) even though you...More

I took a family of animal lovers to this nice location in Santa Rosa. It survived the ravages of the wildfires earlier in the year. It is a mixture of smaller cages with a variety of smaller animals, birds and monkeys with open fields of...More

Absolutely worth the cost. The animals are well taken care of and you experience seeing them in a natural habitat, happily roaming within their area. You get to see a huge array of cool animals up close, including the open-jeep tour portion through a big...More

The tour in a Jeep is awesome, but the overnight stay is icing on a cake! I went with my family of young kids. With the overnight stay, you get to hear the animals at night!

Loved this visit. My first impression - surprised at cleanliness and orderliness of the place, especially with the recent fires, which burned to the edge of the property, and did take home of owner, and others. Richard, our guide, was most accommodating and informative. The...More

Our tour was at 10:00 am. The giraffes were out and moving around. My wife thought they were the highlight of the tour.
