I feel so blessed to have discovered Annadel State park a few years ago because it is my #1 place for hiking and running that is close to home. It is on the other side of town but I do not mind one bit to drive there. It is very peaceful and beautiful, I am looking forward to when we... More

Located in the heart of Santa Rosa, this park offers some of the most challenging mountain biking around. Plus, the views from the top are amazing. If you're hiking, keep a watchful eye for mountain bikers charging down trails at 30 mph.

Great hiking park. This park is a hub of weekend activity with folks from Santa Rosa hiking, horsing and mountain biking into the park. Very limited facilities, bring your own water and tp. Really like the Spring Creek Trail into the park and Lake Ilsanjo is pretty too. Recommend a morning walk as this can get hot in the afternoon.

Stay off the roads here, just look out for the cranky horsewomen - do NOT make the mistake of missing a no bikes sign. Single and doubletrack trails, varied terrain and skills. A slow aerobic climb for 30-45 min and a leisurely downhill, or a challenging climb over rocky trails and a breakneck pace downhill - your chioce. Just be... More

as it is just a few blocks from my home. Thus I usually go hiking on weekdays up to Lake Ilsanjo and avoid the weekend. Some of the trails are wide enough that a bike can get past you, but on others you must step to the side. The bicyclists I have run into over the years have been cautious,... More

There are so many great trails in this park, and many of them are great mountain biking trails as well as hiking trails. Lovely views from some favorite trails, but you have to go discover which ones you like best -- there is so much to choose from. Wild turkeys galore! Some friends of mine adore lake Ilsanjo as their... More

We hiked the trails in this park and found them both well-maintained and the woods quite protected and interesting. We saw and heard wild turkeys, but the highlight was a close view of a Pileated Woodpecker tearing apart a fallen rotted log to get at some tasty insects or worms. He was majestic, the size of a crow!

lots of great trails there use to be a problem with bike folks and horse folks sharing the same trail but that is working its self out. This park is a hidden gem in Sonoma County

Wide open spaces, lots of places to start from and it's a beautiful hike/walk. Up at the top is Lake.

The entire mountain top is a park - biking, hiking and even swimming are possible here.. the nature is intact, with lots of birds, and butterflies...
