When people ask me about Zaca Mesa I tell them that IF the hippies from Haight Ashbury had left San Francisco and were driving their truck south ... and it turned over as it went around the curve ... this is the winery they would have established. My point is that it is surprising. Surprising in a good way. The... More

It seemed liked the people at the counter were not interested in selling or showcasing their wine. very un attentive! they were just going through the motions, not one ounce of information!

Stopped in for a prearranged tour and tasting. Tasting room staff skillfully handled a fairly large crowd for a weekday. Cathy and Ricki managed to keep everyone served while still being able to impart valuable knowledge about the wines. There are great views around the winery and is definitely worth a visit.

My wife and I liked the very reasonably priced 2013 Viognier ($16). My wife likes a sweeter white wine as long as you can taste the distinctive flavor of the grape. The other wines offered were just all right. Nothing special. Tasting fee is $10. Good service. Nice picturesque drive on Foxen Canyon Road to get to the winery.

Visited Firestone, Fess Parker's, and Zaca Mesa. Zaca Mesa was the first that we visited, and the atmosphere was just wonderful. Visited mid week, the Chardonnay was good, the Viognier was very good, for it's price point. We will be back to visit again, and this place will again be first on the stop list, after a nice lunch in... More

The service and wine here is always something special! It's a great, dog-friendly winery that has an outdoor patio for having a picnic in sunny California weather. We always stop here on our Santa Ynez Valley tour!

Zaca Mesa was a lovely winery with good wines and friendly staff. The staff at Fess Parker recommended it to us and we weren't disappointed. Good range of wines - the reds were our favourite.

We had the BEST time wine tasting at Zaca Mesa! They happened to have live music outside, too. We really loved our "pourer", she was very educated in Zaca Mesa and clearly loved it and loved her job. She went over and beyond. Great experience. Highly recommend this winery. The wines are FANTASTIC, too.

We hit Zaca Mesa at the end of a day of wine country touring. There was something appealing about how the tasting room is nestled low under the trees. A nice outdoor area that invites you to hang out a while. We were well treated in the tasting room and really enjoyed some very nice wines. We were very close... More
