Learned some new stuff about wine

The woman doing the pours was very informative on the wine making process. We learned quite a bit from her. She took her time and really helped us.

My second trip here. Blackjack has some of my favorite reds. Fun wine tasting with engaging staff. I like the location a couple of miles outside Solvang on the road to Los Olivos.

Since we reviewed this winery three years ago, Blackjack has lost its enchantment for us. The wines remain excellent, though pricey. What has really hit us on the last two visits is that the pourers have been increasingly negative and unpleasant - starting pleasant and getting progressively snarly and rude at times. We finally decided we have no reason ever... More

I've been to Blackjack twice, and the experiences were different. Try to select a non-peak time for a more relaxing visit. While visiting family in the north county area, I insisted on heading over to Solvang to sample some of the local wares. We visited several wineries, but a couple of them stood out for me. My venture had nothing... More

Visited Blackjacks winery as part of an arranged tour of three wineries and would say that Blackjacks was our favourite. It felt much more personal, warm and attentive. There is a lovely covered seating are for a picnic. Thoroughly enjoyable visit.

This is a "boutique" winery with a small production, so don't expect bells and whistles-just great wine. Our pourer, Allison, was terrific and spent lots of time describing the philosophy of Blackjack as well as wines of the region in general. The tasting is $12 and consists of 11 different wines, both red and white. Their whites are good but... More

My husband and I visited Blackjack Ranch Vineyards on 2/27/15. We had a great time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would defiantly stop by again!

We recently visited Blackjack Ranch Vineyards & Winery looking for the "Sideways" film location. We loved the wine, and the young lady pouring was great, friendly and funny. Sampling the wine took us back to the movie and its lively characters. The setting was cool and we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, there is no licensing for any "Sideways" merchandise. We... More

Our third and last stop. Glad we hit a place featured in the film. It was nice and pretty, but because we showed up at the same time as a "big spender" couple we were treated with less hospitality and had to wait for our tasting. Once they left, we surprisingly had to be focused on. The wine was nice... More

I was on a fun and unique road trip with my active 91 year-old mother-in-law and 87 year-old mother (really!), and winetasting in the Santa Ynez Valley was on our "must-do" list! The Blackjack's sign at the gate telling us this was one of the vineyards featured in the film, SIDEWAYS, was the motivating factor for our choosing this tasting... More
