If you want to experience wine country without all the commercialism of some wine areas (such as Napa County), go to Sonoma County. You will still get the feel of real wine country. I have traveled Highway 12 in Sonoma so many times that I have lost count. No matter what time of year, it is beautiful. In the winter,... More

I regret that it took me this long to experience Sonoma Valley. The views of the vineyards and wineries are breathtaking and humbling. To see where a large amount of domestic wine is produced really puts things into perspective. I plan to order a case of Sauvignon Blanc from several vineyards throughout the valley.

We loved driving down highway 12 from Lake County. The scenery is fantastic and encourages a peaceful feeling of well-being. We had a relaxing lunch at a winery and due to warm weather (first week in March), we were able to eat outside. Definitely recommend the ride!

If you are debating a visit to the California wine country, my advice is to do yourself a favor and go! We traveled in April, 2016 and stayed mostly in Sonoma. The weather in April was absolutely perfect, most days were sunny with clear blue skies and highs in the high 60's, to low 70's. I found Sonoma to be... More

We're lucky enough to live in this very special place and I recommend it to anyone for a short or long visit. We're just an hour north of S.F. (which is a regular trip south for us) and there's everything you could want here, from light hiking and bike riding, to shopping, GREAT dining, (a local and historic favorite is... More

We spent a night in Sonoma and a night in Napa and we enjoyed Sonoma more. Napa is nice too but Sonoma is just more us - laid back and naturery - whereas Napa is more commercialized.

Love Sonoma, the people are very laid back and the surroundings are rustic and peaceful. Wineries are approachable and welcoming. Delicious wines at every turn! Will definitely go back!

We quickly ran out of ways to exclaim upon the beautiful weather and the lovely green of the valley as a whole. Calming and inspiring.

I would recommend a visit to the Sonoma Valley and the wineries to everybody who needs to relax and have a break with the routine It is an unforgettable experience, the scenes are espectacular, the wines and the food are gourmet and some wineries reminded me to my trip to France in the gardens and Castles.

We drove around Sonoma a couple days and the rolling hills were lush green and beautiful. We loved the area.
