opportunity to see Vallejo's home and farm.

very interesting historically as the home and family lived in it well before California became a state. Good historical info, clothing, etc.

General Vallejo's house is located a few blocks from the Sonoma main square. It is part of the Mission and Sonoma Barracks historical sites and all three are included in the same admission fee ($3). There wasn't a lot to see there but what was there was interesting.

I love trying to visualize how people lived "back then". Mariano Vallejo was important to this entire region and his house shows just how much wealth he accumulated, how he lived, how he farmed and what a visionary he was in certain ways. Thanks, M.G. for being one of the first wine producers in the area.

It is elaborate but will give you a sense of the historical significance of Sonoma and it's contribution to the early days of California.

This is a beautiful home that is filled with historic items and in the entrance building, there are many great photos and artifacts. The park rangers were very informative and happy to answer questions. The admission to the Mission a few blocks away also covers the Vallejo Home.

This is the second time I've been here. Love to see the way folks lived way way back in time. Lots of photos to show you how things were. You can tour the house and see into the rooms with some of the actual items from General Vallejo himself.

I know most people don't come to Sonoma to see historical sites but this one is very well worth a short detour from the Plaza in downtown Sonoma. The house is very well preserved with period furnishings and artifacts from the Vallejo family who were so influential as early settlers in the region. Behind the house there is still the... More

The grounds are fabulous and the signage is good. The overall property is a 5 star experience. However, the state of CA needs to hurry up and get to repairing and restoring this gem or it could be very sad soon! I also wish you could go inside some of the other buildings. Worth the hike around the fields etc.

Definitely worth the long walk to see this mid 1800s home. Make sure to visit the area behind the home as well.
