This trail development is brilliant. A great way to gently experience the lake, see the views, be around some of the food venues, without too much effort. The trails seem to be expanding over time. Kudos!

I enjoyed my walk along the water here, in spite of the bad air from forest fires. It is always a pleasure to be near the Lake and these trails are well-developed, Beautiful.

I can't believe it took me this long (years and years of visits to the Lake) to discover these great trails which are excellent for long walks with beautiful views, all free!

Every time I visit Tahoe city, I hve to grab a coffee in the morning and take a stroll by the river front. So beautiful and peaceful early. I like to go to events down there also, the music in the park in fun too.

Perfect place for lake activities! Swimming cold it was freezing but it’s hot in July so you can dry off fast! I love that there’s trails you can go on! You can get to different areas of the lake by boat or paddle boarding or kayak!

Lovely town with many shops and food options. The boardwalk by the lake takes advantage of the view and is beautifully landscaped with native plants and trees. The are different areas to sit and enjoy the views.

We rode bikes to the west of Camp Richardson on the trail which parallels the highway but is not on the highway for several miles. Along the trail you can get to the Tallac Historic Site, Taylor Creek Visitor Center, and Baldwin Beach. If you go east you can get to the south end of South Lake Tahoe with many shops, restaurants and other activities including the beach and residential areas. The trail is well maintained and friendly for bikers and walkers.

We walked the "bike/walk/jog" trail from Tahoe City along the Truckee Rive to River Ranch. It's about 8+ miles round trip. You walk along the river in and out of shade from trees. There are a number of spots where you can walk down to the river. The trail has port a potties along the way and there are restrooms and water at River Ranch as well as food service. You can walk further if you wish to Squaw Valley.

Tips: If you walk the signage states "walkers on the left, bikes on the right". Most bikers do not understand this and ride at you. Keep an eye out for fast bikes and stay on your side of the yellow line. The trail also goes east from Tahoe City along the lake all the way to behind the Safeway. Very nice spots to stop and sightsee.

Walk, jog, run, bike skate on this path next to Truckee River. Nice for strolling or what ever your exercise or enjoyment. Also goes through forest and up west lake boulevard.

Beautiful walk along the lake but too short. if you consider yourself an above average walker. Various historical information stops. More info if you start or end at the "Fanny" bridge. Nice place to sit and watch the people and or boats
