Although the mansion wasn't open yet when we visited in late April, the grounds alone are worth the visit. Set on the shores of the lake with sweeping views you can wander the trails, have a picnic and soak in the beauty. We will be returning once the snows melt to take a tour!

While in Lake Tahoe don't miss out on an opportunity to see how the rich lived back in the day. The Hellman-Ehrman Mansion is right on the lake shore and really shows what Lake Tahoe is all about. It's a beautiful hideaway tucked in the forest. Far enough from the modern casinos and ski town feel of South Lake Tahoe... More

Although the mansion's interior was closed for the season when we visited in early November, its grandeur and architectural beauty, drawing in Victorian and Queen Anne Revivalist styles, was breathtaking. The building is an elegant contrast to the parkland that surrounds it. Well worth the visit.

This is a lovely property. While we were not able to tour inside the house, the grounds are beautiful. There is a lovely beach and a spectacular view of Lake Tahoe. Old world craftsmanship on this outstanding house. Parking is $10.00, but take a picnic and enjoy the lovely slopped grass, or camp in the campgrounds across the road.

Love coming back here year after year. Did not tour the mansion this year. In the past it was very interesting. We just enjoy strolling the grounds

If you enjoy the history of Lake Tahoe, this is a must see. The imagine the grandeur of this home in it's early years is so much fun for the imagination. Great to see the work and talent of the craftsmen of that bygone era. The docents do an excellent job of explaining the history and the use of all... More

We were lucky to get in on the last tour of the day. The guide was very informative. It was interesting to contrast this family's lifestyle with other estates on Lake Tahoe.

We've seen a lot of historic houses. We almost gave this one a miss but are thankful we didn't. It was one of the highlights of our local tour. This was a house of surprises - I had no idea that homes had such modern bathrooms and plumbing back in the 19th century. We certainly didn't - I grew up... More

Lots of history to see here from Tahoe's past.. We did not take the mansion tour. You can see other historic buildings and boats for free. The beach here is very big and sandy with kayak rentals. There are a lot of trails around the park to hike or ride your bike. Bring a picnic and enjoy it on either... More

We enjoyed our visit to the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion. It was a very nice home that was well preserved with an effort to provide period furnishings. The tour was well done and thankfully brief. We did not have time to enjoy the rest of the park but it is certainly a beautiful setting on the lake.
