I had never done any winter sports and wanted to try both cross-country and snowshoeing. The resort let me do both in the same day, with the rental/lesson/pass package. On weekends, there are several beginner group lessons for cross-country to choose from, and after the lesson I was able to switch to snowshoes. A great experience: the staff and instructors... More

Parking on the weekends especially and even during the week is very limited due to the large amounts of snow taking up a lot of space this 2017 season, plan to hike in or take one of their shuttle buses in if you are not lucky enough to get parking... But once you get past the parking the skiing has... More

This was my first time cross-country skiing in four years. Everyone at Tahoe Donner Cross Country was so welcoming and helpful. The check-in/rental process is very smooth and professional. The rental equipment was ship-shape. The trails are well-groomed and not overly crowded. I took a lesson because it basically came with my rental/trail pass package and I got some good... More

The employees were very pleasant. You must fill out a bunch of paper work for your dog to ski there. We enjoyed most of the trail. I think the snow was sticky so they had a hard time grooming. There was one section that was very steep. I had to take my skis off and walk down even though I... More

We rented snowshoes at Ace Hardware (cheaper than at the center) and packed a picnic. It was a good workout with great views. We stopped at the Sundance warming hut for lunch which was perfect.

Tahoe Donner has undergone a complete remake of it's old facility. It's brand new and very large with all the amenities needed for a family outing. The have of course, rentals, lessons and a great area to learn how to cross country ski whether it be skating or striding. There are fire pits to enjoy with comfortable seating at the... More

From beginning to end we had an exceptional cross-country skiing experience here... From initial check-in, efficient equipment rental, outstanding instruction, and most importantly, wonderful trails. There was amble space for the 'skating' skiers and _well-defined_ groves/tracks for those of us who 'slide' ski. They say they have 20 km of trails. We covered about 8-10 km. Highly recommended if you... More

The grooming crew did a great job with little snow to work with. It will be interesting to see how the new lodge presents food and amenities for day skiers. Nice trails with variety and many options for beginner to advanced skiers.

Simply, the best cross-country snow in Truckee!! My family has taken up cross country skiing and snow shoeing, and we love Tahoe Donner's venue!
