We had a great time at Tahoe Donner. The mountain is isolated from Tahoe's weather, making it a good option when it is snowy/rainy at Homewood/Squaw Valley. It is probably not the place for advanced skiers, but is great for rookies such as myself. Lots of snow and good lessons. Don't know about equipment rental: we rented in Dave's Skies... More

The two kids just learned how to ski. We wanted to go family skiing but didn't want to pay big bucks for ski lift tickets since we only go on the beginner trails anyway. The price for Tahoe Donner was just right - almost half the price compared to some of the big resorts in the area. It is a... More

Fun place for beginners. Smooth check in for rentals and lessons. Small resort, but it had a nice long green run to practice on. Skip the play area if your kids are over 6. Tubing and sledding hills are very slow. Big menu in the lodge, but it was very small and had little seating. Getting there was the biggest... More

Great for beginners, not crowded, tubbing was fun too. Pizza on the hill was great for vegetarians. Also a great little market called Z's market and deli.

After being off the slope for a decade and my wife for 30 years we decided to take baby steps to get back into the sport. This resort fit the bill perfectly. The rates are a fraction of the big hills in the area and everyone we met and dealt with were super friendly and went out of their way... More

A great ski and snowboarding resort for beginners and advanced people. It has great staff who help you when you need help. If you get hurt the staff will bring you to safety. It also has many trainers who will train you privately.

This small ski resort in the larger Tahoe Donner Resort is a great place to learn to ski or snowboard. Most of the runs are beginner or easy intermediate, with a couple of true intermediate runs that are marked as black diamonds on the trail map. We are advanced intermediate skiers and there were no runs too difficult for us,... More

This is a great spot to take kids to learn. Very affordable tickets. There is a a parking shuttle, a bar and a snack shack. The lessons are great and very reasonably priced.

Nice family ski area. Mostly beginner to intermediate groomed runs. There are a few places off piste through the trees that are mostly not skied. In most years they get quite a bit of snow.
