About
We offer pre-booked indoor and outdoor tours for groups of up to eight, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10:00 to 2:00 pm. MARS Wildlife Rescue is a non-profit providing care for orphaned and injured wildlife on northern Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Our wildlife hospital is open 365 days a year for patient admissions. Our visitor centre provides tours, an exhibit hall, and a gift shop in support of our wildlife hospital. During our open days, children and adults meet our non-releasable ambassador owls, eagles, and albino crows, and learn how we can reduce human impacts on native species and habitats. Sorry, pets are not allowed on site as they cause stress to wildlife. Our visitor building is fully accessible. Most of our outdoor tour route is packed gravel paths and accommodates walkers, strollers, and wheelchairs. We look forward to greeting you!

Really enjoyed our visit to Mars Wildlife Rescue. The staff are incredibly knowledgable and kept our 8, 9 and 10 year olds, along with the adults, engaged and entertained. My children say it was a "really cool" experience and they particularly liked Sawyer the one eyed, one winged owl. Highly recommend.

This is a fantastically run rescue centre. I brought my 3 year old daughter and we had a guided tour with a very well informed and friendly guide. My daughter loved seeing all the Owls and Eagles especially! If you are looking for something fun to do, and at the same time looking to help a really worthy cause, I'd strongly advise a visit soon!

I had a great time with my family and the other people in my tour group! The kids learned a lot about MARS' operations, ambassador birds, and the way often wildlife gets harmed in our area. The staff were all super knowledgeable and friendly, and we were lucky to meet an owl up close!
