Beautiful long quiet beach. Great dunes. Many, many sand dollars. A little windy the day we were there but the host indicated this was not the norm. If we are fortunate to return we will bring chairs & books! A fantastic view of the Pacific....More

I love this beach! If you go at the right time of year, there are sand dollars littered all over the beach. There is a restroom/shower area and several slat covered barbecue areas. Those areas are before the sand hill to the beach. If you...More

If you like expansive beaches you cannot go wrong with Sunset State Beach! Use extreme caution if you enter the waters along here, always beware of the conditions and watch for riptides. There is a nice campground at Sunset beach too.

Notably, we stayed there after a huge rainstorm so it was very quiet. I think the premium circle is the south loop which is the easiest route to the ocean. Spots in the loop were very spacious and good distances between camping sites so you...More

I can't rate the campground but this is a big quiet beach with nice waves. Get away from the Santa Cruz crowds and take a drive to Sunset!

We kind of just picked this spot randomly because we wanted to stay on the beach in California without paying a fortune. This park is well equipped and the bathrooms are nice and clean. Short walk to the beach the surf can be pretty rough...More

I loved this beach, because it is a bit off the highway so is not as crowded as some other beaches in the are. And the campground was not half bad either. Let me break it down for you. Beach access: There are 4 paths...More

They do not sell ice. They only sell firewood. There is not a general store here. The fire pit in the campsite was great. It had pretty tall sides so was safe for the kids. It had an attached grill that was nice and we ended... More
