Amazing redwood forest to drive through with walks into points of interest. You can go up to giant standing redwoods and climb on downed redwoods.

The Redwoods were almost more impressive than the Redwood Nationalpark further North. We did not mind the various businesses.

The forest environment with the gigantic, thousand years old redwood trees gave me a sensation of touching history: past, present, future. The drive on the "Avenue of the Giants" should be on your must-do list when driving through that 30-mile stretch of the Redwood Highway.

This state park is so incredible and perfect for my young kids. Around the Founder's Tree is a wonderful easy walk through these amazing trees. All of my kids enjoyed this stop!

We stayed at the Best Western in nearby Fortuna. Up to date, very comfortable and exceptionally clean rooms. Eel River Brewery in Fortuna a short walk for fun meal with good beverages. Would be very long trip from SF.
