The avenue of the giants was absolutely beautiful! We stopped at many places, is a big state park with lots to do and lots of trails too! Shrine drive-thru tree was so sool! But tgey charge $8 to enter.

Amazing forest ! It's a beautiful park ! Well kept - well maintained park ! Roads are excellent - rangers are helpful ! One of the nicest parks in America ! A must see if in the area ! Redwoods trees are amazing !

We stayed at the Best Western in nearby Fortuna. Up to date, very comfortable and exceptionally clean rooms. Eel River Brewery in Fortuna a short walk for fun meal with good beverages. Would be very long trip from SF.

The gateway community of Weott is at 328 feet. Terrain in the area ranges to at least 3000 feet though I've no idea how accessible those areas are. Average elevation is listed as 1516 feet at Topozone. An internet search for... More
