Plan to linger, the store is a warren of wonders, with an incredibly bright, friendly and opinionated staff. Lots of cards and curiosities as well as book, and many signed copies.

Only regret is that we couldnt spend more time there. Such a hidden gem. Huge range and friendly staff. Allow an hour minimum.

Thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Little crowded but that is the essence of bookshops. There are recommendations by staff and signed copies of some. Varied subjects and included some very high end ones too. If you like books, a must go.

Very close to my hotel and heard that it was a good place to visit , a good selection of books and magazines from all genres . Picked up a book on the fashion industry and was specifically looking got a great biography or autobiography of an entertainment figure , however nothing really caught my eye and many of them... Great, terrific independent bookstore. Jam packed with great interesting books. Very small, but really on par with Powell's for character. Kind of odd location/access parking is in rear. Don't miss this one if you love books.

I confess that I grew up with Duttons in Brentwood and expect all LA bookstores to live up to that standard. Book Soup comes soooo close. I stop here whenever I come to town. The selection is great and there are always interesting recommendations. I love the selection of LA books and fun stationary. It is a gem of a... More

If you have a certain book in mind you could call ahead and they will put it aside for you. If you have some time to wander around you will want to spend the day. Everything is so carefully selected that "collection" says it best. More wonderful books in one small store than in a three story big box pretend... More

The rarest of the rare these days, the hip, informed and well stocked book store. Friendly service and a selection of a full array of books - from the newest best sellers, to the critically acclaimed, to the gorgeous Rizzoli monographs, and so much more.

One of the finest independent bookstores in America. The breadth of inventory is remarkable, and there is much more than books. Lots of unique cards, games, things you don't need - but must have. Surprising in every way, and perhaps most surprising, and thoroughly impressive, is the staff. Incredibly smart, kind, and considerate, I can't say enough about how they... More
