Had to hit this park and do a hike on our visit to Boulder. You haven't really visited Boulder until you have visited the flat irons. Good views of the flatlands to the east and an up-close view of the foothills of the Rockies.

Lots of great trails in Chautauqua Park. Great for a sunny afternoon. Unless it's dry or packed snow, the trails can get a little muddy when wet. Some really nice 1 hour loops that are not difficult at all. Ranger station with maps and information....More

This is a wonderful spot for an easy hike and picnic with the family. We enjoyed the gorgeous scenery and there is also a sweet playground for younger children. If you’re in Boulder, this is a must do!!

The park is an historical landmark in the middle of Boulder, and the food is very good. We enjoyed the park surrounding the old house where dinner is served, while seated on the balcony. Worth a visit when in the Boulder vicinity. Highly recommended.

Bears are not a problem here. Mostly bear sightings would be generally harmless brown bears, not the dangerous grizzly bears, and brown bear sightings are rare. But mountain lions are in the vicinity, often spotted in... More
