Well worth an hour or two while you're in Boulder. Great for those interested in fossils or dinosaurs, or early American peoples (Clovis peoples). It's small but definitely interesting and worth a visit.

FREE and open daily, this museum is on campus so parking may be an issue, but it has a fun dinosaur/fossil exhibit, and excellent exhibit on clovis artifacts found nearby, and one on the ozone at the moment plus an interesting small one on baskets...More

A great rainy or cold day stop in Boulder. It's small but free and everything in it is well done and explained. I almost skipped the Biolounge, but it's a lovely room with antiques and artifacts scattered around, like someone's attic. Also has tables and...More

Went on kid's day. had students explaining thing- so greatgranddaughter had a wonderful time. Seemed interested in everything Also liked being on campus!!!

The Museum is great. It is free. It has nice exhibits -- Paleontology, Archeology, BioLounge, Kids hands-on Discovery Corner, one changing exhibit (Butterflies when we visited). Here is the downside -- parking! We went when CU was not in session and found a lot across...More

Great for families and individual. Natural History museum on a college campus. Was a little hard to find using Google Maps app, but well worth!

Admission is free, there is a child touch area (with puppet stage and Adobe-like home. There are other "please touch" areas scattered throughout the other exhibits. Temporary exhibit on caterpillars and butterflies, permanent exhibits on fossils, taxidermy, native peoples (vases, baskets, tools) and more.

There is a current exhibit entitled: "Unearthed: Ancient life in Boulder Valley". It is centered around 83 ancient stone tool pieces that were discovered by a landscaping crew in the spring of 2008 in the bacyard of a home just six blocks from the museum...More
