13 year old and i had a great time - tour + panning

My 13 year old son and I had a great tour and did some panning for gold. The tour was fun - lots of fun facts. Interesting being 2500 ft back into the mine.

This was an amazing tour for grown ups and kids alike. The mine is a real working mine, and has so much to explore. Management and staff do a great job of allowing you to feel comfortable to explore while maintaining proper safety precautions while in the mine. Our guide was awesome. He was great with kids, and took time... More

You have to do this tour at least once. Amazing what conditions were like. However, the tour was about an hour but nearly $30/person. A bit steep. Could have been $20. Tour guide was warm and friendly. She answered lots of questions. She was even patient with the little ones. Glad we went, but a $100 for three people for... More

We were taken on a tour 1,100 feet into the mine to see how it was done and the conditions the miners worked under. Well worth it.

This as a great tour at a reasonable price. The tour guide shared the history of the mine. We paned for gold, but didn't find any. I highly recommend this tour.

Excellent tour of one of the mine tunnels. Very informative of the history of the mine and how the ore was removed. Walk the tunnel into the mountain and see one of the mined veins. Not for little kids. Tour lasted about 45-60 minutes. Is expensive for the tour

We've been on some other mine tours but certainly enjoyed this the most. The guide was great with history on the mine as well as the describing the realistic conditions the miners endured. The tour was great. Younger kids on the tour seemed to enjoy the gold panning experience as well (this is observation only as our kids are older... More

This was just a neat place my wife and I visited. It's got a little of everything. A really interesting mine tour that is not too strenuous, but gave us some great perspectives. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. The property is clean and well kept, while maintaining it's historic feel. We learned much we never knew about mining. The... More

This is a must do for anyone interested in the history of the American west and the gold rush. The tour shows you the reality of life for a late nineteenth century miner.

We arrived 55 minutes ahead of our tour. Our family of 5 included three teenagers. All three teenagers loved the slide and Facebook lived going down the slide. Beware, the slide is tight, fast, and doesn't take you to the end. You have to scoot out. The scenery from the top of the mind is awesome. Mountains with some snow... More
